The health and safety of our pets and the community is our top priority. Due to the recent instances of community spreading of the Covid-19 virus in our area, the shelter will remain closed to the public on a limited basis until further notice.

According to the World Health Organization, there is no evidence that companion animals have been infected or could spread coronavirus (Covid-19). While our doors will be shut to the public, we will still be doing our best to keep our shelter functioning as normally as possible. 

 

We understand this may be disappointing to those who wished to visit our shelter during this time, but have determined this is the best course of action to ensure that our staff can dedicate their attention and focus their efforts towards keeping animals happy, healthy and safe.

Adoptions

Adoption will be on an appointment made basis. For serious adoption inquiries, please complete an adoption application  to be approved prior to scheduling an appointment. Appointments can be made between Noon and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday by calling 319-362-6288.

Lost and Found Pets 

LOST reports can be filed via phone at 319-362-6288. If you FOUND a stray pet please call your local non-emergency agency. Stray animal reclaim appointments can be made between Noon and 4:00PM Monday through Friday by calling 319-362-6288

We ask members of the public to please not attempt to set appointments if you are showing signs or have been exposed to any illness. The health and safety of our animals depends on the health and safety of our staff.

First of all, THANK YOU! Volunteer opportunities will be limited during this time. Our greatest need at this time will be financial donations to help offset the loss of donations and adoption fees during this temporary shut-down.
