Volunteering with the Cedar Valley Humane Society is an excellent way to make a positive difference for homeless animals. We always have opportunities for volunteers and have a variety of volunteer positions to choose. You’re assured of finding at least one that matches your skills and interests, whether its socializing dogs or cats, helping at a special event, providing a temporary foster home for a special needs animal, or small projects that can be completed at home.
Please Note: If you are looking to complete court mandated community service, please email firstname.lastname@example.org following completion of Volunteer Application.
Become a Volunteer:
Submit a Volunteer Application. A separate application must be submitted for each minor and adult volunteer.
Attend an Orientation Session. You will be emailed the orientation schedule once your application has been approved.
Attend an Animal Handling Training Session. You will sign up for this at orientation. Training sessions are usually within 1-2 weeks of orientation.
Make a Difference!
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer on their own.
Minors 8 to 15 years of age are welcome to volunteer, but must be accompanied by an adult volunteer at least 18 years of age, at all times. The adult volunteer will need to complete orientation and any subsequent training with their minor partner, prior to volunteering together.
To work with our animals, volunteers must physically be able to enter and exit the kennels in a safe manner and have the ability to understand and comprehend Cedar Valley Humane Society rules and policies for their own safety and the safety of the animals.
