Cedar Valley Humane Society volunteers will be wrapping purchases at Barnes & Noble in Cedar Rapids on December 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’s no charge for the gift wrapping service-- we work for freewill donations! So help our shelter sweeties this holiday by shopping at Barnes & Noble while we're there. Look for the Cedar Valley Humane Society volunteers at the table near the checkout...we’ll be the ones with the holiday cheer, the gift wrap and the donation jars.

The adoption event will feature the cats we have on-hand at PetSmart, as well as a few more ready-for-adoption pets that our volunteers will bring for you to meet. If you fall in love, you can fill out an adoption application on the spot! We’ll also be accepting donations, so bring a few dollars for the jar. Or do some shopping and pick out a few treats and toys for the animals back at the shelter.

Come enjoy a delicious meal of chili, soup, and salad, plus an array of breads and desserts at our third annual Chili Supper on Saturday, January 10! We'll be serving it up between 5 and 8:30pm at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center, 4500 N. 10th Street in Marion. Adult tickets are $10. Seniors are $8, and kids 10 and under are only $5. This year, we will have live entertainment by Sarah Angelo-Haight, who sings and plays the ukulele! The show runs from 6 to 7:30pm. All proceeds benefit the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
