$30K in 30 Days Challenge

in 00:00 hours.

Location:
Starts: September 01 2014 @ 12:00 AM
Ends: September 30 2014 @ 11:59 PM

In 2013, the $30,000 in 30 Days Challenge was a huge success. We asked you all to give generously so that we could continue to care for the animals (always our top priority!) AND complete several major projects-- projects that had been put off for years (yes, even decades!) due to lack of funding.

With your generous support, we received the funds we needed to get the projects done!

Now we’re asking you for another big boost.

This September, once again our goal is to raise $30K, which is roughly the amount it takes to provide care for all our shelter animals for 30 days.

As you may know, it can cost between $200 and $300-- or even more-- to take care of an animal during its length of stay with us. That’s because once an animal is in our adoption program, we commit to finding that animal a permanent home, no matter how long it takes. The animal gets routine medical care and vaccinations, as well as any critical care it may need. All of this really adds up!

And if that weren’t enough, this year we will incur several additional expenses. We need to:

  • Install new kennel latches and locks so that we can securely house dogs in all of our kennels.
  • Replace disintegrating drain covers in kennel areas so that pieces of plastic do not enter and cause damage to our newly installed septic systems.
  • Widen the driveway to two lanes so two vehicles can safely pass.
  • Purchase a generator so that we can maintain a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment for the animals during extended power outages.
Completing these three projects and purchasing a generator will take more than $30K; the total costs are closer to $60,000. We are working diligently to find matching grants and other sources for the additional funding.

Right now, we’re just asking you to help raise the $30K to care for the animals.

Our FirstGiving page makes it easy for you raise funds by using your social networks. Please check it out, and help us by involving your friends and family in your passion for helping animals. With FirstGiving, you can create your own personal page and tell everyone why you are passionate about helping our shelter animals and ask them to support you in reaching the goal you set for yourself. (Plus, you may also donate directly.)

Last year, $30,000 felt like an impossibly high goal. We were stunned at the generous outpouring of support that had us not only reaching that goal, but surpassing it! This year, we know that raising another $30K will be a challenge, and we would never take attaining the goal for granted.

But we know with your passionate support... it can be done!

We know that if you donate at whatever level you can afford… continue to help us reach more people… and engage more people in our mission… once again we can reach $30,000 together!

As we always say, we can’t do all we do for the animals without you!

Bring us your unwanted, gently used items! Clothing, furniture, household items (and more!) can all be brought to us during our Stuff the Stuff Truck drive. On Saturday, October 11, from noon to 5pm, Stuff Etc.'s box truck will be parked in our lot, and our fantastic, hard-working volunteers will be here to help you unload your vehicle. We are NOT looking for supplies for the animals--we ARE looking for items we can re-sell at Stuff Etc. to raise money for medicines, vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, and other necessities. Furniture sells REALLY well, so if you have an old-but-still-good chair or an odd end table, now is a great time to lighten your house of stuff and help animals at the same time. So...clean out your closets and cabinets! Shovel off your shelves! Rearrange your rooms! Bring us all the good stuff you don't want, and we will convert it to cash to support our mission.
