March 26th, 2015 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

hermie2croppedI just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much we adore our new addition.

We adopted Hermie (renamed Hunter) on Thursday and he is such a blessing to us. He is remarkably well-mannered for such a young puppy! He gets along so well with our other two dogs, too!

My kids were at their dad’s last night, so Hunter slept in my bed along with my Lab, Hawkeye, and my Pug/Bichon mix, Sophie. He slept all night long! Continue Reading »

Midnight (now Anubis) Instantly Falls in Love

February 13th, 2015 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

midnite_anubis3croppedA week before Christmas 2013 I came in looking for a companion for my 10-month-old Maine Coon after my senior cat died. I was looking for a black cat at the time, since I’ve always had a fondness for them and have heard they are harder to adopt out.

A friend and I drove up to your shelter. After a few minutes, I came across a 10-month-old black cat named Midnight. The second I opened his kennel, he trotted up to me and started to climb onto my shoulders. When he plopped down Continue Reading »
