Smart, Vocal, Cuddly Chase Loves to Chase!
I thought I’d give you an update on how Chase is doing.
Chase is very cuddly. He has to be touching me at all times, and if I push him Continue Reading »
Gary Gets Along Great
Just wanted to say how thankful I am for the Cedar Valley Humane Society!
I adopted Gary, the Lynx Point Siamese, and he is the sweetest cat. He has such a huge personality! I’m so happy we both have helped him live a better life. He is doing great in his new home and getting along great with the other cats.

Eager-to-Please Emmy Fits in with the Pack
We are loving having Emmy as part of our family! She is sweet, eager to please, and just fits with our dogs and our family so well!
Emmy enjoys taking walks when the sidewalks are dry, and is so good on a leash. She loves new smells and just being outside. Hanging out in the backyard is another favorite pastime, although cold weather is NOT her friend! She loves rawhides after supper, cuddling with a person on the couch, and sleeping with us at Continue Reading »
Curious Caesar Snoops in Boxes
Caesar loves looking at the birds out the window of his new home. He is very curious! You will often find him snooping around in random places, such as boxes. On the very first day at the apartment, he made himself comfortable on the couch. He definitely adjusted to the change quickly and we couldn’t have picked a better kitty for our place!

Lucky is One Lucky Dog
Thank you so much for helping us save Lucky’s life.
When we first found her drowning, afraid and alone, we had no idea that we needed her just as much as she needed us. Thank you for making Continue Reading »
Macy Makes her New Family Happy
Thank you for Macy the cat. We love her so much. We took her to the vet, and she is doing great. Macy loves playing with her toys. Macy lives in a big and beautiful home. She loves walking around and looking at everything. Macy gets lots of attention. Macy has made us so happy. Thanks again for all the good things you do for pets.
When the weather gets better, Macy is going to visit the Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon. I’m sure everyone living there will be happy to see Macy. Macy Continue Reading »
Noah is One Cool Cat
Hello to all my furry friends and the wonderful staff that took such great care of me–Noah! I was the big gold and white tabby cat that was adopted and flew home to Florida! I’m healthy, happy and so, so, so Continue Reading »
Rosie Gets Back to the Dog Routine
Rosie is such a doll! She really is housetrained and at times would rather stay outside.
We are all back to our “dog” routine. Rosie slept all night. She loves her Serta memory foam bed and chewing on dental bones. We quickly learned to keep the doors shut on all the cabinets that have food in them, and we had to move the trash can out to the “freezing” porch… or Rosie would have been in it for sure! She has a lot of spring in her jump. This morning Continue Reading »
Opey Doesn’t Like to Brag, but…
On October 3, my mom came to the Cedar Valley Humane Society to see a cat she saw online. While she looked at other cats, I kept talking and talking to her from my cage. Continue Reading »
Shellie (now Eliza Doolittle) is Adored by Family
Shellie, who I renamed Eliza Doolittle, is truly amazing! My son and our other dog adore her. She grumbles in her sleep, and she is easily trained. She has a personality like me, plus… she loves the snow! (LOVES it!)
Thanks so much for our new addition.

Seniors Beans and Pepper: Big Personalities, Big Laughs
Though I’ve only had these two for seven short months, I can’t imagine life without Beans and Pepper. I’ll never forget the day I first saw them at the shelter–Pepper was sleeping and Beans was trying to get as much attention as possible Continue Reading »
Friendly, Curious Rainbow Just Hanging Out

Kenzi Enjoys her Retirement
In November 2010, we adopted Kenzi, a black and white Cavalier/Cocker mix, from the Cedar Valley Humane Society. She was very timid and protective and obviously had produced multiple litters of puppies.
After being spayed and having some other minor surgery, Kenzi was as good as new!
Kenzi spends her days in a very Continue Reading »
Wonderful, Goofy Rascal Flourishes in Forever Home
The first time I met Rascal was last December during the Cedar Valley Humane Society’s Holiday Open House. He was paralyzed with fear but remained calm and gentle. I subsequently discovered that he was abandoned, “rescued” by people who had tied him outside where he contracted heartworm. They then turned him over to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
Rascal had become a special-needs dog due to his fearfulness and Continue Reading »

Spock (now Raz): From Jumpy to Snuggly
I adopted Raz (formerly Spock) from the Cedar Valley Humane Society almost three years ago. He was found running down Highway 13 with a chain wrapped around his leg and then spent the next four months waiting for a home. When I met him Continue Reading »
Just Another Lazy Day for Kahn (now Boots)
I came in to meet the adoptable cats with my son and his wife in May. One of the adoption counselors helped us find a cat with just the right personality: an older cat who liked attention, but wouldn’t be in our laps every minute. Continue Reading »
Amputee Moses Loves Walking the Neighborhood
We finally got a good picture of Moses, the three-legged beagle we adopted from you almost two years ago!
Moses has always been such a happy dog, but it took him a while to get really comfortable and relax with us. Some of that may have been because we heard he was adopted out and returned twice. It’s hard to trust when you get your hopes up for a forever home, and then get taken back again.
You could visibly see the change when Continue Reading »
