Nala: Adorable, Beautiful, and Awesome!

April 4th, 2014 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

We absolutely love Nala! She’s already well trained, and so loveable, and she has not shown any bad habits! She sits and stays, and she’s very quiet. (She only barked when the neighbor from a few houses down was walking two of his dogs across the street while Nala was out, and it was because they barked at her first!) She wore herself (and us!) out the day we got her, as we had to take her out to walk, play, and check out the yard every half hour!

She tells us when she needs to go out, Continue Reading »

Sadie a Very Welcome Addition

February 28th, 2014 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

I wanted to let you know how Sadie is doing in her new home.

She is a wonderful pup and is doing just fine. The only thing she doesn’t like is our kitty, but I’m sure that will change in time. She loves to go outside and run free in the backyard. She is also very attentive and a good watch dog. She has free run of the house and loves it. I am so glad I saw her picture online and got to meet her right away.

Thank you everyone for your time spent Continue Reading »

Herbie and Ollie Share Special Bond

December 18th, 2013 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

I want to share a happy story about our pets from the Cedar Valley Humane Society.

We adopted Ollie (FKA Rocky) about nine months ago. He was a puppy-mill rescue who needed a lot of TLC. He’s always had severe separation anxiety, and we’ve been working on that. He would be anxious and have Continue Reading »

Tyler (now Max) is Lab/Frog Mix

December 4th, 2013 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

MaxOur new Max, formerly Tyler, is energetic and lovable and happy. He enjoys tracking deer scents, running in the woods, digging holes, playing tag, tug of war and lying down in the creek while drinking at the same time.

He has finally managed to contain his impulse to chase our five cats and can now walk right by them. He loves people and only growls at tractors he has never met.

We know he is a Lab mix, and we Continue Reading »

Chevy at homeIt’s only been a week, but it’s been a great one!

Chevy has taken well to our new home and the adventures we’ve put in front of him. This past weekend we took him camping with us at Lake Rathbun, and he loved the time outside exploring new territory. He was very intrigued by the water and fish, which made me want to send along an update! Continue Reading »

Lazy Patsy (now Paisley) Runs Laps and Naps

September 26th, 2013 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

Lazy PaisleyPaisley, formerly known as Patsy, has been doing awesome.

She loves to sleep, eat, eat ice cubes, and play a little. She is very lazy and sleeps anywhere she can get comfy. She gets these energy spurts where she runs laps around the house for about five minutes, and then it’s time for another nap.

She gets along with everyone and loves to smell everyone that walks in the door. Continue Reading »

Ruth (now Hennepin) Loves to Kiss Chins

September 10th, 2013 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

Ruth, now HennepinWe thought we would send you an update about Ruth the Chihuahua.

Hennepin has definitely made a Continue Reading »

August 28th, 2013 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

We adopted Jude on Sunday, June 23. We renamed him Bacio (bah-cho), the Italian word for kiss, because he’s such a lover. (It suits him, don’t you think?)

We LOVE him and are so grateful to all of you at the Cedar Valley Humane Society for bringing this new love into our life! Thanks especially to Heather for introducing me to him!

The timing was perfect because I Continue Reading »

PJ (Now Eugene) is Excellent Snuggler

July 16th, 2013 by Cedar Valley Humane Society

EugeneWe adopted Eugene–or PJ, as he was known when he stayed with you–back in January of 2011.

Eugene became an integral member of our household as soon as he walked through the door, following the lead of our older Pit mix, Chloe. There’s quite an age difference between the two, but Eugene helps keeps Chloe young. And Chloe has helped make Eugene the wonderful member of our family he is today. Continue Reading »
