Our new Max, formerly Tyler, is energetic and lovable and happy. He enjoys tracking deer scents, running in the woods, digging holes, playing tag, tug of war and lying down in the creek while drinking at the same time.
He has finally managed to contain his impulse to chase our five cats and can now walk right by them. He loves people and only growls at tractors he has never met.
We know he is a Lab mix, and we Continue Reading »
Chevy has taken well to our new home and the adventures we’ve put in front of him. This past weekend we took him camping with us at Lake Rathbun, and he loved the time outside exploring new territory. He was very intrigued by the water and fish, which made me want to send along an update! Continue Reading »
For a dog that is eight years old, he sure thinks he’s a puppy! During the day, Blu plays with his Continue Reading »
He has been a great addition to the family. He took to the family right away, like he has owned us his whole life! He was never scared, not for one minute. He came in checked out the house then flopped down in the middle of the floor and stretched out as far as he could.
We highly recommend your facility Continue Reading »
Pippin is now three and still with me. (He was called Manny when he lived at the shelter.) He is amazing. He now has two cat scratchers, his own ottoman (where I put his litter box), his own water fountain, a cat tree, cat grass, and cat shelves. Continue Reading »
She loves to sleep, eat, eat ice cubes, and play a little. She is very lazy and sleeps anywhere she can get comfy. She gets these energy spurts where she runs laps around the house for about five minutes, and then it’s time for another nap.
She gets along with everyone and loves to smell everyone that walks in the door. Continue Reading »
We renamed her Hennepin, which she caught onto almost immediately. We decided on that name because the other two dogs that we’ve had we have named after places that we lived. We had Roxi (Denver) and Wrigley (Chicago) and Hennepin (Minneapolis).
Hennepin has definitely made a Continue Reading »
We LOVE him and are so grateful to all of you at the Cedar Valley Humane Society for bringing this new love into our life! Thanks especially to Heather for introducing me to him!
The timing was perfect because I Continue Reading »
Dioge’s first night home was so precious and awesome. (Glad I waited for the RIGHT DOG.) Dioge (a Seneca name meaning “grassy place”) must have been in a house before. He did not totally freak out, but there are still some things that startle him.
Let me back up. He rides in a car like a dream and slept all the way to Davenport. He loves our backyard. Not real excited yet about taking neighborhood walks but never pulls on his leash. He walks like a perfect Continue Reading »
I wanted to let you know we adore Willow, the Great Pyrenees/Siberian Husky mix I adopted. Willow has made herself at home in our house. Willow and Carly, my daughter, go for jogs on one of the many bike paths at Lake Red Rock. (We live close to this wonderful system of parks in Pella.)
Franky, our Bichon, is also enjoying his new dog pal – and we are enjoying the long walks together. Thank you very much for helping us find Willow – she is a great new member of our family. Continue Reading »
Eugene became an integral member of our household as soon as he walked through the door, following the lead of our older Pit mix, Chloe. There’s quite an age difference between the two, but Eugene helps keeps Chloe young. And Chloe has helped make Eugene the wonderful member of our family he is today. Continue Reading »
I just wanted to let you see how Derek (now Murphy) and Camy are adjusting to their new home. They seem to be happy, and we are so happy that they have come to live with us. I want to thank you for taking such good care of them before they came to us!
Alan and Karen P.
Just wanted to let you know Louie is so sweet and loving (which you all already know). He is fitting in with his new siblings and loves to snuggle next to me in bed or on the couch. Continue Reading »
I just thought I’d send a note telling you how well Marley and I are getting on. He has been such a great cat, very busy bird watching and playing with his favorite ‘snake’ and ‘rat’ toys. He’s eating Science Diet and maintaining his 13 1/2 lbs.
Thank you for being such great interim parents. I was VERY impressed with how dedicated the Cedar Valley Humane Society people are to make sure the pets go Continue Reading »
Chase is very cuddly. He has to be touching me at all times, and if I push him Continue Reading »
I adopted Gary, the Lynx Point Siamese, and he is the sweetest cat. He has such a huge personality! I’m so happy we both have helped him live a better life. He is doing great in his new home and getting along great with the other cats.
Emmy enjoys taking walks when the sidewalks are dry, and is so good on a leash. She loves new smells and just being outside. Hanging out in the backyard is another favorite pastime, although cold weather is NOT her friend! She loves rawhides after supper, cuddling with a person on the couch, and sleeping with us at Continue Reading »
Caesar loves looking at the birds out the window of his new home. He is very curious! You will often find him snooping around in random places, such as boxes. On the very first day at the apartment, he made himself comfortable on the couch. He definitely adjusted to the change quickly and we couldn’t have picked a better kitty for our place!
When we first found her drowning, afraid and alone, we had no idea that we needed her just as much as she needed us. Thank you for making Continue Reading »
Thank you for Macy the cat. We love her so much. We took her to the vet, and she is doing great. Macy loves playing with her toys. Macy lives in a big and beautiful home. She loves walking around and looking at everything. Macy gets lots of attention. Macy has made us so happy. Thanks again for all the good things you do for pets.
When the weather gets better, Macy is going to visit the Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon. I’m sure everyone living there will be happy to see Macy. Macy Continue Reading »
